Who is your customer? Any parent that is too busy to walk the dog, any person that has a full time job but has a dog, or anyone that is disabled but has a dog – these are the people that could be your customers!

How are you going to reach your customer? You need to make flyers and cards expressing what you are planning on doing for these people. Give them to everyone that you see on your way to school, on the way to the park and to everyone in your neighborhood. Have your parents pass out information about your business to others that they know. You could get a few jobs just while people are away on vacation!

Walking the dog for anyone means that you will have to scoop the poop too!
Find ways that you can scoop poop and dispose of so you don’t make homeowners or those in the park upset that you are walking dogs all the time.

How are you going to get your customers? You can tell everyone that you know what you are doing for the summer. Post flyers in local stores where adults are shopping. Post flyers in local pet stores where those who have pets are going to frequent. Post flyers on community bulletin boards and in churches where know adults will be all the time.

It will be important that you are on time so the dogs can get their exercise as needed when you say you are going to do it. This is also a job for dog lovers only, because if you are not a dog lover your customers will somehow know!
