Tutoring You can advertise your services online, in the newspapers, at school, on bulletin boards, or anywhere that you can put an ad. Often free ads in newspapers and in local store where books or supplies are sold are going to find you other children in nee of tutoring. Once you start your business, word of mouth will work to get parents talking to other parents to build your business. You will need to have a few references on hand for new customers that you don’t really know. Your references should include memos from teachers in the subjects that you have mastered and that you have received good grades in. Because you are teaching children that you might not know, you should always meet in a public place like the library or the computer lab or in a place where an adult is always present for your safety and the safety of the other child. Be sure to be paid by the session or by the week, depending on your agreement. Don’t be afraid to ask for your money because you are investing a lot of your time in teaching someone else. Always be encouraging to the children that you are teaching. Some students will learn easily while others are a little more difficult. Try to be flexible and creative in your tutoring and you will find that you can ‘pass on your learning habits’ fairly easy! More Ideas to make money |
