Teach swimming

If you are good at swimming and you live near a pool or if you have your own pool, you can teach others how to swim.  You would most likely make more money teaching at the YMCA or at the local pool.  What you need to do is teach other children, your age or younger, how to swim.  If you are really gifted you can teach a few classes a year and make extra money.

What you need to do is make a plan on how you can teach others, and what you are going teach them. Being responsible is a big part of this job, so only older teenagers should attempt to teach others how to swim.

You can teach floating skills, kicking skills, underwater skills, how to call for help, how to swim above water, safety in the pool, and more depending on the skill level of your group. No matter what level of children you are working with you will need to be patient and available during all classes.

If you are going to teach swimming and have others at your home pool you might want to check out additional insurance with your parents to be sure you are safe in case anything would happen.

No matter where you are teaching swimming skills at, be sure to have flotation and life saving devices available for safety reasons. You should never have more than two students without having another instructor or adult with you so you can ‘keep an eye’ on all of your students at the same time.

You can advertise by setting up flyers at the local pool. Put flyers up in the park and go door to door where you know the persons that live there. Put up flyers in the stores that are near the pool if you are permitted. Hand out cards with your name, phone number, and your service to every one that you know!
