What you need to advertise and tell everyone is that you are available during certain times of the day to run to the store for him or her. Your customers could include the elderly, those who are in the middle of baking, parents who don’t want to take their children out just for a gallon of milk, or those who are on the busiest of schedules and need an extra hand in shopping.

Your services could include purchasing the item with your own money and then, you being reimbursed when you arrive with the purchase. Alternatively, you could stop by their apartment or house, pick up the money, and then head off to the store. Your money is going to be the fee that you charge for running to the store. You could make anywhere from a quarter to five dollars a trip, depending on how much of a tip you are given and how far the store is.

You will have to be responsible in remembering to get a receipt each time for purchases so your customers know exactly what you have paid for an item.  Your fees can vary for someone who just needs a trip to the store, and someone who is having an emergency, during early or late hours but can’t get out to the store. Remember you have the option of saying no if it is very late at night and you don’t live in a very nice neighborhood.

Advertise by handing out flyers to those who live in your own area. Living near a store, you could advertise in the store by handing out cards to those who are shopping in the store.
