How are you going to get the ‘stuff’ for your garage sale? Ask every one you know to give you anything that they don’t want. Check out the block early in the morning before the garbage man comes. There are often large items that are still usable that you can save and sell in your sale. Ask your parents, your neighbors and your relatives for anything they don’t need or want.

Advertise in the local newspapers, put up flyers, and hang signs on poles to grab peoples attention. You will find you are going to get the most traffic at your yard sale when you have it on a Friday and Saturday when most people are off work. During the summer months garage sales are very prevalent.

Keeping your prices low is going to make sure that you sell everything. You don’t want to take anything back to where it came from and you don’t want to store anything after your sale is over so be sure your prices are low, low, low!

You will need a money box and change before the opening of the sale. Having lots of loose change will help you accept larger bills. Bags and boxes are going to be needed for others to carry goodies from your sale without too much trouble.  You can have a bake sale during your garage sale and make even more money for those who come and haven’t had something to eat yet.
