You can find old stamps in yard sales, flea markets, in your parent’s attics, in your relative’s attics, and in old church basements where they are having sales. Once you have a few books or boxes of stamps, you can purchase a price guide from your local post office and then dig through these stamps to find out which ones are really worth some money.

You need to protect your stamps from moisture, from being bent and keeping them organized will help you know which ones you have been through and which ones you need to look through just yet.

While a stamp might be worth more unused, there are still some very good prices that are being paid for used stamps.  Some of the best prices are going to be found in the stamps that are four in a block, old stamps, and stamps that have errors on them from printing.

You can buy and sell stamps online or offline, in pawn shops or in stamp collecting stores. No matter what else, you should ask as many businesses as you can to save their old mail envelopes for you so you can save stamps and build up a collection. Even if you have twenty of the same stamp, that could be more money than you had to start with and the were all free!
