Sell newspaper stories

In every town or city, newspapers are one way that people get to know about other people and about what events are going on in the city.  Some newspapers are very small and others are very large. Writing stories about current events in sports, music, movies, children’s activities, online information stories or anything that your area finds interesting will make you money.

What you need to do is get in touch with local editors for newspapers. You can write for several different newspapers at once if you like. Your news stories can include photographs is the editors would like. News stories could be about what is going on at school, what is going on at church or at local community events.

You can make anywhere from five dollars to a hundred dollars per day, week or month, depending on what your stories are about and how often you are going to write for the newspaper. Getting your name in print time after time is very rewarding plus you are going to be able to meet the newspapers need of filling space in their papers on community affairs.

How are you going to get started? What you will need to do is word up ten article topics. Topics that your local newspaper would benefit ‘with’ by your writing about in the future with the paper are the topics that you should be listing on your paper. From this listing of topics, write three to five short articles about the topics, and get photos if you can. Submit these articles to your local newspaper editors by mail or in person if you can get a face-to-face meeting. Having samples, when meeting with the editor is going to show that you are able and capable to do the work that you want to be paid for.

You don’t have to limit yourself to writing for only local newspapers. If you have the topics and the ability, you can write all types of articles, cartoons, jokes, or other items for newspapers that are all over your state!
