If you have ever been an extra in the movies you know just how exciting it can really be. You walk about your business, pretending not to notice all the action going on, but you are still in the action!  Extras do get paid for every day  you are on the set, and sometimes there are extra perks like getting autographs, photographs or lunch and you will have a great time as well.

How can you get in on the set of a movie or television show as an extra? Ask your parents to be your agent, or get in touch with an agent for you. While you could work for a few different agents, getting into various movies every month, you will end up finding one or two that are going to get you the most work.

You will succeed in this type of business when you live close to where the business is always going on, or if you are able to be where the action is going on. Your success will come when you do what you are told, how you are told and when you are told without question on the movie, television or theatre set.

As you grow and continue working in this field be sure to keep a listing of what movies you have been working in, who you have worked for and what you have been doing – never know when you are going to come in for a big role!
