Refreshment stand

Living in the city, in a large neighborhood, where tourist visit or by a railway or bus stop, you could easily start a refreshment stand and start making money. You could sell soda, water, lemonade, or orange juice, even Popsicles, ice cream, or frozen drinks. On the hottest days of the year, you will make more money as more people pass by your stand.

You may need to check with the local regulations or ordinances but you should have no problem in setting up a refreshment stand. You can charge by the cup or have a savings when buying three or more. You can run your stand as many hours as you like, and when you are in the same place all the time you will find that repeat customers will come to get your cold drinks.

To really keep costs down, you could sell ice water, lemonade, fruit drinks, or similar types of products. Depending on where you live, a cooler of ice and a case or two of soda would mean a few bucks in your pocket just by lunchtime. If you are feeling adventurous, sell before baseball games, soccer games, and basket ball games or at the swimming pool.

The more often that you are out there on your corner the more you are going to find the same people passing by every day. If you are nice to your customers they are going to buy from your stand as often as they can.

You can advertise your services with little flyers that pass out with the cups that you are selling, or you could pass out flyers to kids that running around in the neighborhood. When children are on the go and thirsty they can stop and buy a drink instead of running home.

Ask you local suppliers if they could be sponsors. You could get cups free from soft drink suppliers, local pizza houses or similar large chain suppliers!
