What will you need to do this job correctly? Either you need transportation to pick up laundry and take it to the laundry mat or you need to be able to go to the persons house to do the laundry in their home. Either way, you need to lift clothes, be able to fold and sort laundry and hang laundry.

You can advertise your services on flyers that you hang through out the town, in the laundry mats or on doorknobs. You can advertise your services on business cards that you pass out to everyone that you know and give them extra so they can pass them on as well. Place an ad in the local newspaper that will run all year around, and place an ad online in free classifieds in the local sections of the web so your services can be found. You can offer these services to every one you know on your block, in your building or that you know.

You should charge by the load. Either you need to include the cost of soap and softener in your prices or you should lower your prices so that the homeowner has to supply their own detergents. Be sure to read all tags on all clothes before putting them in the wash or in the dryer. Sometimes when adults are in a hurry they can put clothes in the hamper that are meant for the drycleaner only and not the washer.

When you are working in someone’s house, be sure your parents know where you are and when to expect you back even if you are working at someone’s house that you know.
