Ironing service

No one really likes to do laundry but if you are looking for a job that is going to make you some money, get set to do some ironing!  No one likes to walk around or go to work in clothes that are wrinkly, but at the same time no one really likes to do the ironing. However, when you make your rounds on the weekends, you can make a bit of money that you want!

What you need is a portable iron, an ironing board, a can of starch and a few hours on your hands. You can iron dress clothes, jeans, pants, shirts, curtains, drapes and what ever else homeowners might need done. You can do this job from your home, where people drop off their ironing for you or you can go to their house and do their ironing there. Because you could be going to strangers houses, you should be an older teenager, and your parents should always have an idea of where you are and at what time in case they need to find you.

You can start this business on your own or with a few friends. The more friends that are involved in this service, the more areas you can cover and you will have to split the expenses and the money. Working in teams would be great when you are going to homes when you don’t know the people you are working for. You would be able to get the clothes done faster as well.

Need a few tips on ironing? Your clothes should be just a bit damp for the best results so a steam iron is your best choice. Try to hang all items that are ironed immediately so creases stay where the owner wants them to be.

You can charge many ways for this service. You can charge by the hour, the item or by the laundry load. Depending on who your customer is you can make the charges from that point. A price list should be drawn up and given to all customers before you start ironing so that they know exactly what the bill could be when they call you for ironing services.
