Hair salon work

Cutting hair is something that most all of us are familiar with. Hair salons, hair dressers, and those who work out of their homes are wanting ways to make their hair cutting areas cleaner and nicer looking without all the added work. You can make money doing odd jobs at the hair salon.

What you need to do is contact anyone that you know and ask if they have any jobs for you. You could be cleaning sinks, cleaning the floors at certain times of the day or you could be washing hair for customers who are waiting. You could work at a different hair salon business everyday or you might be busy enough to be working at just one location a few days a week.

For the older young adult who is taking cosmetology in high school, you could get even more work in the hair salon, working on cutting, coloring, or shaping hair for customers. Moving business along in the hair salon while practicing at the same time is what you are going to gain as well as making money!

If someone is not sure about hiring you, volunteer for a few days. Once you volunteer and they hair salon owner sees how much of a help you really are they will hire you to come back a few days a week. Being nice to customers and helping out in cleaning around the store is going to be most important.

You can look in the yellow pages and visit the hair salons that are listed within walking distance of your home. You can walk through the city and visit with any type of barbershop that you find. You can make flyers or some type of business card stating what you do and leave with the owners so they can call on you when they are too busy and need a little extra help.
