You can create logos, letterhead, brochures, invitations, announcements, flyers, business cards, posters, graduation announcements, and even wedding invitations!  Everything in life that you see or use that has a picture or design on it is what you can be creating for others and charging for it.

What do you need to do this job? You need a computer, printer, a few good ideas and a software package that you like to work with.

Where will you find your customers and clients? First you can start locally and then move online. Working for a small store that wants a letterhead created, the business man who needs new cards, or holiday cards for the  local pet shelter down the street. These can all be your customers. Advertise by visiting their sites, giving them free materials, all which use your logo, your letterhead, your brochure and your graphics on them!  Moving online you can advertise anywhere that is free or that you can afford.

When working with any client, be sure to ask questions, as many as you can, so your final work is never far off from what they want in the final product. For the largest clients and largest projects, some type of written agreement about what you are going to be paid will be needed, and sometimes a payment schedule could be needed if you are creating various items that will end up being a ‘large’ portion of your time for the week.
