You will find some neighbors and relatives that will bring their packages to your home for you to work on by most often your customers are going to be found in malls, outside of stores or by the check out counters in the stores. You are going to have to get permission from storeowners to ‘work’ inside of their stores, or maybe the storeowner will ‘hire’ you as a service to their customers and you will be paid hourly instead of by the package.

If you are going to be self employed you will need to find a good supply of wrapping paper, tape, bows, ribbon and boxes. You can invest a small fortune in this type of service so be sure you have your ‘space’ before you actually purchase the needed equipment and materials for this service.

You should approach mall owners about spaces at least six months before the holiday season, as often other service oriented people will be booked months in advance also. The best spots for your service are going to be in the middle of a mall or in the locations that are set up very near the largest anchor stores in the mall. These are locations that the highest numbers of people will see you.

You can start your services anytime at least a month before the Christmas season, sometimes a little earlier will snag you even more money. Make a poster of your prices per box or per package. Be sure to remember that everyone is on  a budget and keeping your prices low will help you get even more customers.
