If you have a dollar store, penny store or thrift store in your area you can find all types of canning jars that are cheap. Usually you can purchase a dozen jars for about five dollars or less. What you are going to do is fill these jars with anything. Anything from marbles, stickers, candy, gum, balloons, fancy rocks, anything that you can get cheap and put in the jar.

After filling the jar, you will put the lid and the ring on. Next you will decorate the jar with a sticker, name tag, ribbon or any type of covering and hot glue if needed.  On the bottom of your jar, you can make stickers inexpensively on your computer. Make a sticker that has your name, phone number or email address and type of jars that you sell. This is advertising that will get you more customers as they see your gift jars.

Holiday, town oriented, children’s treasures, adult treat or anything that is going to make the gift special and unique is what you can put in these jars. You can make photos of your jars and put them for sale online, or in a flyer that you hand out to everyone that you know.

Charge by the finished and complete jar. All jars should be the same price so no matter who is buying a jar from you, they know exactly how much it is and that the same quality is in every jar.

Give a few of your jars away as presents and this will help spread the word around town about your gift service!
