Work in concession stands

For every sporting event or music event, or gathering of just about any kind there are concession stands. The concession stand is where people find food and drink when they are at an event.  People will want food, drinks so matter how long they are at an event, and the concession stand worker is an important part of many types of events.

How can you get a concession stand job?  Inquire with the building office manager. Most every large event building has an office and they will be able to tell you how to apply and when workers are most needed.  This is the type of job that will require you to work nights and weekends. Most of these concession stand workers are at least sixteen years old, but in some areas you can be a little younger if you are not cooking or cutting foods.

Handling money will be important. You can practice counting money back at home with your parents or your friends. You should be able to do the math in your head because the calculator is often just too slow when you are really busy.

If you know someone, who works in a concession stand you can find out exactly how to apply.  Look for ads in the newspaper or on bulletin boards to find immediate openings.  Often when applying for a concession stand job you will need to complete an application. On an application, you will need your name, address, phone number, school attending, and two or three references. Your references could be teachers, other students, neighbors or people that you know.  To make the best impression, ask for and complete the application on the day that you are at the business.  Taking the application home and bringing it back shows you are not prepared for getting a job at that time.
