Coaching

No matter where you live in the world, there are schools and communities that have children’s and adults activities of all types. These activities require coaches and assistants, which is just one way that you can make money.  If you really have a sport or activity that you enjoy or that you can coach others at you can ‘get hired’ and make money.  Coaches make various amounts of money, depending on what type of coach you are or what type of organization you are coaching for you can make different amounts of money.

How are you going to find out who needs a coach or assistance? Most sports organizations plan very early for their coaching staffs and team needs. Check the local newspapers during the fall and winter months for openings in the spring sports. During the summer, most will advertise for their fall and winter coach or coach assistant needs.

Inquire with local organizations, at their meetings, or by visiting their buildings and asking. Maybe the first year you will need to volunteer, but after you could be paid after, you have experience. All situations are different, and there are many types of situations that you can get paid.

If you think coaching is not for you, or you can’t find a coaching opportunity open in your area, you can become an umpire. Umpires or referees are needed for all types of events from basketball, hockey, to wrestling and football among others. You can get a check for each event that you referee or umpire at. Some times, you can make five dollars a game, other times you make forty dollars a day.  Take a class if needed, or get certified if you have too, but this is one way you can make money without taking too much of your time all week long.
