Many computer users don’t realize that ashes from smoking, all types of crumbs from food, and even drinks will splatter down into keywords and more.  Monitors, keyboards, scanners, printers and the mouse will need to be cleaned at least once a month.

If you don’t know how to already, you can use glass cleaner on most monitors, soft paper towels or rags, rubbing alcohol, tweezers, toothpicks, toothbrushes, compressed air, warm water, soapy water (on the outside plastic parts only) and cotton balls, cotton swabs and more to clean computers up nicely.

You can market your skills by giving a quick cleaning to those that you know, like your friends, family, neighbors, teachers or principles. The more people that you show that you will detail their computers the more customers you will ‘get’. Charging ten or fifteen dollars per hour on the home computer, or less on the business or school that gives you multiple computers to clean would be fair pricing.

Your advertising will consist of flyers, word of mouth, and advertising in the paper, and even cold calling on businesses that are in your town. It is important to leave the hard drive casing alone so you never move, budge, or possibly lose data that is on the computer. This will be one item that the owner of the computer can clean their selves with a wet cloth; you could leave a wet nap for their use!
