Serve at parties

Parties that are catered is where you can make money.  However, often adults just want to have a little help instead of spending all the money that a caterer could cost. Adults having parties need young adults to help them serve food, pick up trash, to make sure the guests have everything they need or want and sometimes to help prepare easy to make foods before the party.

You can make money during the holidays, during business parties, during birthday parties, retirement parties and so much more! This is a type of after school or weekend job that would be for the young adult who is able to carry and serve with out spilling things.

Some of the other things that you may need to do for the adult that is having the party is to help set the tables, rearrange the tables, to set out the finger foods, set out the napkins and plates, set out or make the favors, take care of coats, shoes, boots or what ever is needed.

While the party is going on you will need to remember your manners, most adults are going to expect that you say yes, no or thank you and please, instead of ya, nah, ok, and thanks. During the party, you might find that things do slow down a lot and you might not be doing much, but after the party you will need to help clean up the trash, wash the dishes, and put away leftovers.

You can ask for an hourly fee, or an all-evening fee. Remember that if you are working in someone’s home that you don’t ‘really know’ well, that you can always call your parents for a ride home if the party does get to be that late.

Be sure if you are working more than five hours, or at a party that goes late after eleven or midnight, that you charge the party thrower for the extra hours.
