Mowing grass

In every city, and in every town, there are lawns with shrubs, flowers, trees, and hills. No one likes to come home from work to go out, mow the grass, and trim the bushes when they are tired. You can make enough money, keep yourself busy all summer, and help out the neighborhood by mowing grass all over town!

What you need to do is make up flyers, pass them out to every one that you meet, hang them in the malls, in the shopping centers, in senior centers and then start passing them out to any house that you come up to that has any size of yard.

If you have your own lawn mower, if you can travel to the homes without difficulty, and if you have a trimmer, you can make money! Most lawns in town are actually very small and take less than an hour to do but you can do six or ten a day and make a good deal of money. Writing all of your clients down on a calendar, what they need done and how often you can fill in your time slots with other customers that need their lawns mowed as well.

What should you charge? It really depends on your neighborhood.  For the largest lawns that take over an hour, fifteen or twenty dollars is a fair fee. For the lawns that are just over half an hour, ten to fifteen dollars is a fair fee. However, no matter what you should try to cut your seniors a break. These are the people with very little money, but they are very serious about paying you all the time, they will have you back as often as the lawn needs mowed and they will refer you to their other friends. No matter what, don’t take less than five dollars for mowing any lawn because you have the equipment and that means a lot in the lawn business! (Even if it is just a ten minutes job)
